Padma Shri. M. K. Sridhar, PhD

An inspiring academician and Professor in Management, popularly known as MKS, Prof. M. K. Sridhar is a Teacher, Researcher, Institution Builder, and Mentor to thousands of students across the world. He served as Member Secretary of Karnataka Jnana Aayoga (Karnataka Knowledge Commission) and Karnataka State Innovation Council, Government of Karnataka. He was a Member of University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi and Executive Council Member for NAAC. He was also the member of the task force on implementation of National Education Policy in Karnataka (GoK) and He was President of Yuvakha Sangha. He was conferred with Karnataka Rajyothsava Award by Government of Karnataka on 2010, Kempe Gowda Award by Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palika, BBMP in 2011, General President Gold Medal by Indian Science Congress Association and He was awarded “Padma Shri”- the fourth highest civilian award for his contribution by Government of India in 2024. He has personal experience of using mobility solutions for many decades and presently serving as the Founder Chancellor-Chanakya University, Bengaluru.

David is a respected designer and expert in the parallel worlds of disability and design. He has direct experience in turning innovative ideas into seating and mobility solutions that are relevant, appropriate, scalable, and sustainable. He has developed a range of mobility solution products that have been used in over 130 countries in partnership with major development and humanitarian response organizations worldwide, including the WHO and the International Committee of the Red Cross. Over the last 30 years, David has built a global reputation in the wheelchair and disability sector and was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list in 2010 for services to disability. He has worked closely with the WHO, serving on the Development Committee/Group to develop and publish the ‘WHO Guidelines on the Provision of Manual Wheelchairs in Less-Resourced Settings’ and WHO wheelchair standards. He presently serves as chair of ISWP and President of ISPO, continuing to transform the lives of many people around the world.
