Healthy Ageing and Fall Risk Prevention Awareness Program

Mobility India conducted a Healthy Ageing and Fall Risk Prevention Awareness and Assessment Program in Oorkere, Tumkur, and Yeleyuru, Sira, aimed at promoting safe mobility and improved quality of life among older adults.

The program reached a total of 142 elderly participants from the local community. It focused on empowering older people through community-based interventions that address health awareness, social care, and access to assistive guidance.

Program Activities

The screening process was organized into multiple zones, including:
• Registration
• Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment
• Fall-risk assessment
• Balance testing using the Timed Up and Go (TUG) test

Key Outcomes

The assessments revealed that many participants were affected by knee osteoarthritis and low back pain, which are common contributors to falls among the elderly. Based on the findings, participants received:
• Physiotherapy awareness and guidance
• Posture education
• Hygiene and self-care advice
• Recommendations on appropriate footwear

Mobility India continues to strengthen community-based elderly care, helping older adults remain active, confident, and independent in their everyday lives.
