Taxi for Wheelchair Users – A Unique Service
MI believes that mobility is a basic human right, and having access to mobility ensures that people with disability stand a better chance to be integrated into the society. Mobility India thus offers a unique Accessible Mobile Taxi service for wheelchair users.
Two MI vehicles have been specifically remodeled to suit the needs of people with disabilities and senior citizens. Wheelchairs can easily go straight into the vehicles, with the help of a manual foldable ramp. In addition, we also ensure that the users have assistance from sensitive drivers in escorting them. Users can travel safely, comfortably and independently without any physical transfer.
MI is a pioneer in introducing such a unique service in the city. This service was launched in association with the Jaipur Limb Campaign and Andersen Consulting, UK way back in November, 2000.
This service is a boon to wheelchair users who otherwise find it difficult to commute to different parts of the city. This service enables residents of Bengaluru city, including people with disability and senior citizens to commute with maximum safety and comfort to their desired destination without any worries.
Who can use our services?
MI’s personalised and accessible transport is for those with any kind of mobility restrictions, or disability. The service is beneficial to:
- People with disabilities who need to regularly commute from their homes.
- Ones attending rehabilitation services of hospitals for physiotherapy and other treatment.
- People with disabilities travelling on personal, social, and leisure activities.
- Senior citizens requiring transportation that takes care of their special needs.
Taxi Hiring Rates
Minimum Charge for 0 to 20 kilometres :
- Rs 600/- Non A/C
- Rs.700/- A/c
Extra per kilometre
- Rs 30/- Non A/C
- Rs.35/- A/c
Waiting Charge per Hour
- Rs 200/- Non A/C
- Rs.250/- A/c
Extra night charges (between 9 to 11pm): Rs 500/-
