MI’s expertise and grassroots-level experience have influenced disability, development, rehabilitation, and assistive technology sector. Strengthen partnerships with government bodies, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, research institutions, industry partners, and other stakeholders like World Health Organisation, UNICEF, ISPO, ISWP, and with leading institutions like NITI AYOG, Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), ICMR, Government Institutions, ICRC, CBM, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IISc and DEBEL (Ministry of Defence, GOI).
Collaborated to frame and implement strategies/policies and practices in rehabilitation and assistive technology services, inclusive education, and inclusive development and accessibility at local, state, national, international, and global levels. MI is a member of decision-making committees in shaping policies.
In addition, MI collaborates with external agencies on research projects focusing on topical subjects in the field. MI serves as a clinical trial partner, ensuring that assistive devices and their components developed by leading institutions are clinically tested in the rural and urban based setting for its efficiency and functional before reaching the wider population, thus promoting learning and exchange among professionals and users.
